Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer same-day appointments?

I see patients on Mondays and Fridays. Same day appointments may at times be available. You can check the online booking system, call, or text.  If you are a new patient you will need to fill out the health history form before you arrive. This can be found through the online booking feature.

What is your new patient procedure?

New patients are asked to fill out the health history form in the appointment app. This information will be part of your medical record and help me better understand and meet your needs. The initial appointment lasts 60 minutes and includes a comprehensive history and thorough physical examination as it relates to your concerns. 30-45 minutes of the initial appointment will be set aside for Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment to get you feeling better as soon as possible.

Are your services covered by my insurance?

I do not accept health insurance. I provide you with a superbill listing all of your diagnoses and treatments for your appointment. You may then submit this form to your own insurance company for reimbursement. If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) through your employer you may use this to pay for your appointments on the day of service. Unfortunately Medicare and Mainecare do not allow submission of superbills.

Do you offer walk-in clinic services?

Walk in services are not available at this time. Appointments are required for all patient visits.

Why don't you accept insurance?

Unfortunately many health insurance companies are either refusing to fully reimburse health care professionals or have made it so difficult to submit claims that it requires extensive administrative and billing staff to run even a small practice. By receiving payments directly from patients I am able to keep my costs low and offer patients longer appointments and more individually tailored and comprehensive care.

How much will I be charged for my appointment?

Initial and follow-up appointments are $180 for a 60 minute appointment. Children 12 and under are $100 for a 45 minute appointment. I accept cash, check, credit cards and payment apps such as Venmo and Apple Pay. Payment is due on the day of service.

Do you offer discounts or sliding scales?

Because my rates are already well below the average fee for osteopathic manipulation in Maine, I do not offer a sliding scale or discounted rates.

Can you be my Primary Care Physician?

Although I am board certified in both Family Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, I do not offer primary care services.
